This part of the website covers some of the concepts we feel should be considered when integrating CMC into (foreign) language classrooms. First of all, the teacher needs to provide a framework to bring about a learning community. Moreover, one of the most important issues is the question of content, i.e. what is worth communicating about in a cross-cultural setting. Once learners start communicating about a relevant topic, teachers need to be able to assist learners with possible misunderstandings and communication breakdowns.
