Important News re Bachelor theses for the MFKW degree course and ELLC main subject

We would like to announce that Professors Huber and Mukherjee will only be able to supervise 25 Bachelor theses per year each.

According to the Thesis Module Description, your BA thesis is to be written at the end of your third year of studies (6th semester) in the core area ("Schwerpunktbereich") in which you have completed two advanced modules ("Vertiefungsmodule"). Since you determine your core area by selecting a second module from an area in which you have already completed a module (literature/cultural studies OR linguistics), please make sure that a supervisor is available for you before selecting this second module. Since you begin your second module in English Linguistics in your fourth semester (see your study regulations), you cannot register with the linguistics department for your BA thesis until your third semester (e.g. from 15 January 2010 for Summer Semester 2011). Registration prior to these dates is not possible.

Without this internal registration, you will have no claim to have your thesis supervised in English Linguistics if the capacity in the English Linguistics section is exhausted.

Re registration through the Akademisches Prüfungsamt, please see http://www.uni-giessen.de/cms/fbz/paemter/gwiss/ba/BA05
