If you are a Gießen student who wishes to spend a period of time at a university abroad, these pages are designed for you.
The English Department offers a number of scholarships and operates
several exchange programmes. You will find an overview of what these programmes offer you below. Please also consult our "Study Abroad! - Das Auslandssemester am Institut für Anglistik"-brochure, giving you all relevant information on how to prepare a study stay abroad.
The ERASMUS Programme is a European Student Exchange Programme, funded by the European Union. The ERASMUS network of the English Department of JLU consists of 11 partner universites in 7 European countries.

The German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) funds our cooperations with the University of Colombo in Sri Lanka and the University of Ghana in Ghana within its ISAP-Programme (Internationale Studien- und Ausbildungspartnerschaften).

ISEP, the International Student Exchange Programme, is an independent organisation which JLU is a member of. It offers reciprocal student exchange among its member institutions. For Gießen students this means comparatively easy access to a great number of US universities and colleges. As a participant in ISEP, you will only need to pay a lump sum per month (currently around 600 EUR) which includes study fees and room and board.
