• Arrival by train

From central station Giessen you can reach the institute either by taxi or by bus No. 2, No. 24 or No. 5 until bus stop Marktplatz. From there it is a short way to the institute, just 5 walking minutes - Marktplatz, Kirchenplatz, Schlossgasse, Brandplatz until Senckenbergstr. 3.

It takes 20 walking minutes for the whole way from the central station to the institute.

• Arrival by car

The parking area is located behind the building and the easiest way to reach, is via Landgrafenstraße. Follow the directions or enter “Landgraf-Phillipp-Platz 8” in your navigation device.

From south: Munich / Frankfurt (A 5)

A 5 until junction Gambacher Kreuz, change there to A 45 (direction Giessen), at Giessener Südkreuz follow direction Giessen via Giessener Ring until exit Licher Straße, turn left into Licher Straße (direction Giessen) and at crossover Grünberger Straße keep right and go ahead into Moltkestraße, continue until crossover Ostanlage, drive straight ahead into Ostanlage, keep left until crossover Nordanlage and there turn left into Nordanlage, keep left until the 2nd traffic light (crossover Dammstraße), there keep left intending to turn left but turn over and go back through Nordanlage until the 2nd traffic light (crossover Ostanlage), turn right into Ostanlage, turn right at the 2nd street in front of the subway into Landgrafenstraße, turn left at 1st street (across from the butchery), straight ahead to the university parking area behind the Zeughaus. From northeast: Berlin / Kassel / Marburg (A 5)

- Coming from A 5 leaving the motorway at junction Reiskirchener Dreieck to A 480 until exit Giessen-Marburger Straße/Lollar-Süd.

- Coming from B 3a leaving the motorway at junction Giessener Nordkreuz to A 480 direction Dortmund, after 750 m follow the exit Giessen-Marburger Straße/Lollar-Süd.

Turn right at the end of the exit in direction Giessen, continue until crossover Ostanlage, there straight ahead along Ostanlage turn right into Ostanlage, turn right at the 2nd street in front of the subway into Landgrafenstraße, turn left at 1st street (across from the butchery), straight ahead to the university parking area behind the Zeughaus. From northwest: Cologne / Dortmund / Wetzlar (A 45)

From A 45 take junction Wetzlar-Ost to B 49 in direction Giessen, from B 49 to B 429 at junction Giessen/Wettenberg, exit Giessen Stadtmitte/Giessen-West, turn right in direction center (Stadtmitte), continue via the bridge and under the railway until crossover Westanlage, keep left and turn into Westanlage, continue until crossover Nordanlage, straight ahead along Nordanlage until crossover Ostanlage, turn right into Ostanlage, turn right at the 2nd street in front of the subway into Landgrafenstraße, turn left at 1st street (across from the butchery), straight ahead to the university parking area behind the Zeughaus.
