"Strengthening African Higher Education Through Academic Mobility"

 

Introduction

Supported through the Intra-ACP mobility scheme, the programme with a total budget of 2,9 Mio Euro avails scholarships in the form of mobilities to some 160 M.Sc. and PhD candidates as well as staff of the institutions.

With the overall objective to promote high-quality education for students and young academics and to increase access to higher education in general, this program strengthens inter-institutional partnerships and makes way for a higher education partnership of quality that can act in accordance with the respective needs of the labour market and with relevance to the socio-economic backgrounds of the participating countries.

Objectives

  • academic, cultural, geographically diverse exchange between higher education institutions in African countries (inter-institutional partnerships)
  • opportunity to students and young academics to access high quality education at internationally recognised standards (increase access to higher education in general)
  • act in accordance with the respective needs of the labour market and with relevance to the socio-economic backgrounds of the participating countries
  • meet with the professional human resource requirements of the country and those of the region and beyond
  • contribution to a sustainable development (education for all, fight against poverty, implementation of gender mainstreaming standards, human rights and safety and an intercultural dialogue)
