Manuscript Information Work presented at SCINT2011 may be submitted for review and publication in a special issue of the Transactions on Nuclear Science (TNS) based upon papers presented at the conference. The TNS is a premier peer-reviewed journal with a significant distribution within the nuclear science and medical imaging communities. Only those papers that pass the review process will be published. Prospective authors should consult the TNS page at http://ewh.ieee.org/soc/nps/TNS.htm for a description of the publication. TNS discourages the submission of progress reports and manuscripts that are more suitable for distribution as an institution's internal document. We expect each manuscript to be cast in the context of the state-of-the–art-of its field, including appropriate motivation for the work and how it advances the state-of-the-art, to present a complete description of the work performed, and to present a set of conclusions supported by the measured and/or calculated data. Submission
and review of manuscripts for the conference issue will be handled
the same as for all TNS submissions, through ScholarOne Manuscripts
(SOM) on the IEEE TNS website
http://mc.manuscriptcentral.com/tns-ieee.
In early October, a “SCINT 2011” category will be created in SOM,
and manuscript submissions will be accepted until October
26, 2011. After the deadline,
the “SCINT 2011” category will no longer be available. Authors
who do not meet this deadline may still submit their work for
publication in the regular non-special issues of TNS at any time.
Three reviewers, some of whom may be and some of whom may not be
associated with the conference, will be assigned to each manuscript.
Reviews and revised manuscripts are submitted to the editors through
SOM until the paper is accepted or rejected. Presentation at
the conference does not guarantee acceptance for this special issue
of TNS. Only manuscripts that correspond to conference
presentations (oral or poster) will be considered for publication in
the SCINT2011 special issue of TNS. The established review and
editorial criteria of TNS will apply. TNS has an 8 page limit for
manuscripts, although exceptions can be made when strongly
justified. There is an extra charge for color figures in print;
however, there is no charge if color figures are desired only for the
online version of the paper in Xplore. The special issue will
be published in August 2012. It will be widely available
in electronic form as well as the printed journal, and a paper-bound
copy of this TNS special SCINT 2011 issue will be distributed to each
SCINT participant.
