International Networks
The Institute of Biochemistry could acquire grants for three international networks. The grants are financed by the European Union and the DFG (Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft) respectively. The networks mainly provide education for promising young scientists. They offer scientific visits to other European and Asian countries, practical courses specific to individual needs, seminars and other events, like Summer Schools and Workshops.
The following webpages about the individual networks are mainly in English because they act as platform for all international project partners.

This EU-sponsored Europe-wide network consisted of 12 partners in 6 countries and focussed on a multidisciplinary approach to the study of DNA enzymes down to the single molecule level.

The principal goal of our International Research Training Group is to
attract dedicated doctoral students who are interested in learning how
contemporary interdisciplinary approaches can be used to address
important and timely questions about a subject of central importance in
biochemistry and molecular biology, namely the enzymology of enzymes
acting on nucleic acids.

From November 2005 to November 2008 the European Commission funded an Asia-Link-Project “Human Resources Development in the Study of Nucleic Acids”.
