Identification and characterization of chromatin modifiers involved in muscle stem cell differentiation and aging
The chromatin structure of adult muscle stem cells (satellite cells) undergoes massive changes during cell differentiation and aging, which makes satellite cells an ideal mammalian model system to investigate epigenetic mechanisms regulating largescale chromatin alterations. In this proposal we focus on the identification and characterization of chromatin modifiers that control chromatin transitions in satellite cells. Ultimately, we want to decipher the molecular mechanisms that direct chromatin reorganization in satellite cells.
