The Examinations

Progress through the coursework is monitored by examinations, which take place at the end of the first, second and fourth semester. Here you will find information about the upcoming MBML examinations.

A key element of student training embedded in The MBML Graduate College is the coursework component. This coursework component consists of a series of lectures (the MBML Lecture Series) and tutorials (The MBML Student Tutorial Series). The subject matter of the coursework is examinable in thee separate Student Examinations which take place at the end of the first, second, and fourth semesters. Participation in the Student Examinations is compulsory.

Each Student Examination lasts three hours. For the student to pass each examination, the student must answer a minimum 65% of the examination correctly. If the student does not pass the examination, the student is automatically granted a re-examination no sooner than two weeks, and no later than four weeks, later. Is the student does not attain at least 65% in the re-examination, the student is automatically ejected from the MBML Graduate College. Your continued affiliation with your host laboratory remains at the discretion of the responsible Principal Investigator.
