CliNCA research and education from Master to Senior Scientist level will be grouped around the principal and specific topics. In order to promote cooperation between the CliNCA levels of researchers, the Specific Topics will be worked on jointly. Except the interdisciplinary setup of the research program, four summer schools are also scheduled during the funding period. A primary aim of the Summer Schools is to train the participants from different countries. Thus, the well trained professionals will be equipped with skills that will give them the opportunity to enhance their home institute’s network beyond the funding period.
General layout of the four Summer Schools consists of:
Summer School #1: Scientific methods in research
Summer School #2: Water resource utilization in semi-arid and arid areas by irrigation, land use, and land management
Summer School #3: Socio-economic analysis tools for adaptive capacity building and improved resource planning
Summer School #4: Spatial data analysis for improved land use planning by geostatistics, GIS, and remote sensing
An international conference “Climate change and water resources in Central Asia: prognoses and adaption strategies” will be held in Germany at the end of the funding period and will help to disseminate the outcomes of the CliNCA program.
As a communication tool an internet based platform will provide project related material, which will be accessible to all participating researches and fellow institutions.
