As of 2006, the GGK also houses the GCSC, which offers a distinguished PhD programme at the heart of a strong international network funded through the German “Excellence Initiative”.

- International Giessen Graduate Centre for the Life Sciences – GGL
The GGL is the Graduate Centre for doctoral students in biology, chemistry, medicine, veterinary medicine, psychology, agriculture, nutrition-, environmental- and sport sciences. With its curriculum taught in English, the GGL has, since its 2007 inception, offered a structured and international doctoral programme to researcher from 33 countries.
