Sports Science: How to get there

Sports Science: How to get there

By car:

Be careful when using route planners: The institute can only be accessed from Grünberger Straße but not from Licher Straße. Most route planners give incorrect information on this!

Access from the south (Frankfurt):

Take freeway (A5) up to Gambacher Kreuz, Sauerlandlinie (A45), at highway junction (Autobahnkreuz) Gießen-Süd follow the direction of Gießen (A485), exit Gießen Licher Straße then follow signs to “Zentrum” (Center). After crossing the railway lines do not turn right towards Kugelberg but take the 3rd crossroad (Georg-Phil.-Gail Str.) and turn to the right (crossroads with traffic lights), then turn into Grünberger Straße. Take the first crossroad to the right (after pedestrian crossing, before JET-filling station) and follow signs to “Uni Sportzentrum”.

From northwest (Köln, Dortmund):

Take Sauerlandlinie (A45) up to highway junction (Autobahnkreuz) Wetzlar-Ost and follow the direction of Gießen (B49) all the way. At highway junction Bergwerkswald follow signs to Gießen and Marburg (A485); take exit Gießen Licher Straße, then follow directions as described above coming from Frankfurt.

From the northeast (Kassel)

On freeway (A5) take exit Reiskirchen, and follow the direction of Gießen (B49). In Gießen go towards “Zentrum” (Center), then turn left into Grünberger Straße.  Enter the first crossroad to the left (Kugelberg) (directly behind JET filling station) and follow signs to “Uni-Sportzentrum”.
