Our research group is investigating the biological basis of individual differences. We are especially interested in cognitive processes (e.g. attention), emotion (e.g. anxiety) and behavior (e.g. reaction-times), which differ for example between men and women or between persons with different self-reported personality scores. In order to clarify the biological basis of these differences, we use different approaches like molecular genetics (candidate genes), biochemical measures (e.g. hormones, neurotransmitters) and physiological measures (e.g. electrodermal reactivity, evoked potentials).
