The DFG research group "Mechanisms of compatibility: Reprogramming of plant metabolism by fungal effector molecules" (FOR 666) goes, after an excellent evaluation, into the next funding period (2009-2012)
New Piriformospora indica cDNA database24.06.2009
In cooperation with the University of Braunschweig we have developed a Piriformospora indica cDNA database, comprising over 6000 contigs obtained with the 454 sequencing technology. cDNA was gained from 24 hrs and 7 days mixed total RNA from P. indica cultures starting from chlamydospores grown on liquid complex medium. Access and analysis of the stored data is provided via a webbased userinterface (UI). Furthermore the database integrates information obtained by different tools such as BLAST, introns- and coding sequence (ORF) search machines (GlimmerM, AUGUSTUS and GenScan). The data storage as well as the UI are embedded in a Java/PostgreSQL serversystem and was designed to allow for simple scalability and expandability.
