Welcome to the IPPAE Ph.D. Program "Agricultural Economics, Bioeconomy and Rural Development" for Students from Developing Countries
The Department of Agricultural and Environmental Politics within the Institute for Agricultural Policy and Market Research offers a Ph.D. program to students from developing countries in cooperation with the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD). After a six month German course it comprises one semester of course work with a final examination.
This is followed by a research programme under the supervision of a professor in the fields of agricultural economics, ressources and social sciences. The program begins at the start of each academic year. It is carried out in conjunction with the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD).
Within the IPPAE program…
You benefit from a scholarship granted by the DAAD for the whole program duration and from an additional grant for your data collection. You get support in your scientific achievements by taking part in interdisciplinary seminars and exchanging within an international cohort of PhD candidates. As a faculty member, you get access to PhD courses to improve your methodological and soft skills. The IPPAE also
supports you in the publication and communication of your work at conferences.
Who can apply?
- outstanding scholars from developing countries (DAC)
- 2 years of work experience
- excellent written and spoken English
- MSc degree obtained not more than 6 years prior to application
- MSc degree in agricultural economics, economics, agricultural sociology, natural resource Management, natural resource economics, landscape management, rural development, or equivalent
