Improvement of post-infarct remodelling by neuropeptide ligands of family B receptors
It is the aim to study the suitability of ligands for family B receptors as therapeutical options for the treatment of post-infarcted hearts. It is the aim to optimize post-infarct remodelling into a cardioprotective direction. As such neuropeptides of the calcitonin-gene related peptide (CGRP) superfamily will be analyzed and their potential to improve post-ischemic functional recovery and remodelling will be tested. Experiments will be performed on isolated cardiomyocytes, Langendorff perfused rat hearts, and an in vivo rat model with transient LCA occlusion.
