Partnership with JLU

JLU and the University of Lodz established their partnership during the Cold War in 1978. Nowadays, the partnership is based on a broad foundation and is actively promoted by almost all departments of JLU as well as the Giessen Centre for Eastern European Studies (GiZo) and the Giessen Arbeitsstelle Holocaustliteratur (Research Unit for Holocaust Literature). Lighthouse projects of scientific cooperation are situated in organic chemistry, German studies and social and historical sciences. Moreover, the economics faculties of JLU and the University of Lodz have a lively student exchange.
