Third Party Funding Notification
Before the university can accept a research project, it is necessary to notify the presidium via the faculty dean or the institution leader (§37, Para. 3, HHG). The faculty or center can object to the use of its personnel, its equipment, and its installations within a period of two months maximum if the requirements are not given according to §37, Para. 2, Clause 1 of the HHG. In the case of an objection, the presidium adjudicates after consulting the senate.
Expenditures that the third party will not fund but that are necessary for the research are booked from so-called "mirror commissions." These differ by one digit from the project number and are administered under the project leader's cost center. Any expenditures booked here will come from the professorship's budget.
