TANNRE at DVPW Congress 2018

The TANNRE project is going to present a paper at the DVPW Congress in Frankfurt from September 25 to 28, 2018. The team’s contribution to the panel “Food Democracy. Die Repolitisierung eines Politikfelds“ has been accepted.

The panel is arranged by Dr. Sandra Schwindenhammer, Prof. Dr. Peter H. Feindt (Humboldt University of Berlin) and Prof. Dr. Jale Tosun (Heidelberg University), friendly supported by the DVPW working group “Umweltpolitik/Global Change“. It aims to incorporate food security as well as food policy as a fundamental, although often latent category of democracy policy in the agenda of German political science.

The paper, which is going to be presented by research assistant Jacob Manderbach, conceptualizes norm conflicts as a fundamental challenge for democratic food and agriculture governance. It proposes a theoretical concept to analyze norm contestation and management in the global regime complex for food. The paper further asks how inter-institutional arrangements manage norm conflicts and, thus, influence the development and content-related design of the norm of sustainability in the global regime complex for food.
