Members of the SFB 1213 and everybody who is interested
The progress of the project "Regulatory network of histone modifications in human pulmonary arterial hypertension" will be presented by Dr. Prakash Chelladurai.
Project outline:
Vascular remodeling in pulmonary arterial hypertension (PAH) is characterized by pro-proliferative, pro-migratory, pro-inflammatory, pro-fibrotic and anti-apoptotic vascular cell phenotypes. PH vascular cells maintain this phenotype even when cultured outside their vascular microenvironment. We hypothesize and provide preliminary evidence that alterations in histone modifications linked with further epigenetic changes underlie these key pathological features of PAH vascular cells. These epigenetic alterations will be investigated in detail, aiming to decipher the mechanisms driving the PH cell phenotype acquisition and to use this knowledge to "reprogram" the PAH phenotype.
Everybody who is interested is very welcome to join our seminar series.
The seminars are taking place every second Tuesday from 18:00 - 19:00.
