Summary

The environmental information system (UIS) of the SFB 299 is elaborated by data, net and web management by subproject E 1. A substantial task is bringing together the results and information of different subprojects. Furthermore network architecture and database structure should be developed further according to the demands of the subprojects.

In the third period of application especially different possibilities for interactive, spacereferred evaluation and visualization of data are developed. They offer extended GIS functionalities in the internet. Already existing UIS components are implemented. Intended extentions include the introduction of new possibilities of interaction between graphical and tabular presentation of results.

For the UIS further interfaces to the WWW are developed. These are mainly database connections.

Input, search and output of data via dynamically generated web pages is enforced and should lead to further automation of different services. Thus should be ensured that even with further data input the growing databases will be kept up to date, consistent and format compatible.
