Career Options

Perspectives

Career Options

The professional fields and the fields of activity on which the course of studies is concentrated are wide and varied.

Further education

The further learning section involves all parts of adult learning: starting with "training on the job" or the development of leaders in professional or organizational training, further training in computer work or language learning, and also moving into the area of organization of free time and cultural-pedagogical activities. It covers business- privately- and also publicly- financed further training.

Education for the young outside the school

Education for the young outside the school involves a variety of organizations doing general area-specific cultural youth work. There is a variety of organizations and businesses active in extracurricular youth education. In project work and forms of supervision topics such as interculturality, migration, sex-specific training and social poverty and disadvantaging are dealt with. An interface  between further training and training of young people outside the school is formed by the many initiatives of the job centres to improve the job opportunities, further training and introduction to the job for young people.

The commonest forms of pedagogical activity of people working the the job, are project work, structuring of teaching and learning processes, advising, organizational development and planning. Personal relations and relations with the organizations are thus areas of competence with different degrees of importance.
