Antje Velsinger

Studied Contemporary Dance and Performance Studies in Berlin, where she received a scholarship of the German National Academic Foundation. Since October 2010 she is working on her MA in “Choreography and Performance” in Gießen/Frankfurt. As a dancer she worked for several choreographers and companies in Bonn, Berlin, Hamburg and Switzerland.

2009 she wrote her thesis on “choreography as artistic research” and worked as choreographic assistant and tour manager for Laurent Chétouane’s production tanzstück # 4 “(leben wollen) zusammen”. Furthermore she founded the working collective with the musician and composer Markus Popp/ Oval and took part in the research project “lost among notations” of Claudia Garbe.

2010 she collaborated with Eva Burghardt for the production “Shut up and love me” and produced “wall/paper/wall” with Markus Popp, which was invited to the Tanztage Berlin at Sophiensaele, Music Biennale Zagreb and Tanztendenzen Festival Greifswald.

2011 she became a member of the network “Independent Dance Frankfurt” and presented the piece “this is it, but without us” at Mousonturm Frankfurt, which was a collaboration with the dancer and choreographer Kristina Veit and the musician Figen Aksoy. Since March 2011 she teaches contemporary dance and improvisation at the institute for applied theatre studies at Gießen University. She is currently planning a new work, in which she will continue the collective work with Markus Popp.
