How will primary production react to increasing atmospheric CO2 and temperatures? Will yields and food quality change? What are the feedbacks between soil, plants and the atmosphere? Will ecosystem functioning change? And do experimentalists monitor what modellers need for their projections?
The international conference "FACEing the future | food production and ecosystems" will bring together leading scientists to discuss these issues and many more in eight sessions including nutrient cycling, trace gas emissions and yields, food quality and phenotypes, for example. The conference will be hosted by the FACE2FACE consortium at Justus Liebig University Giessen.
A number of side events will provide plenty of opportunities to get to know each other in a relaxed atmosphere, and explore future collaborations and new scientific ideas.
