"Range development in the endangered Sudan Savanna", 1992-1997
Zamfara Forest Reserve, situated in the North of Nigeria, former Sokoto State, was the field of research of a joint project of the JLU Dept. of Livestock Ecology, the Usmanu Danfodiyo University of Sokoto Nigeria and the Aristotelian University of Thessaloniki, Greece, financed under the EU-STD3 programme. In the years 1992 - 1996 research was done on different aspects of the ecosystem in Zamfara, including pastoral and village based animal production (mainly cattle, small ruminants, camel), crop production, range and forest resources, soil and water quality, gender, environmental awareness. A list of the Reports and Publications and abstracts of some publications are available.
