Fields of interest/focus of work

  • Coral holobiont dynamics and adaptation
  • Coral model organisms
  • Organismal interactions in coral reefs
  • Global change impacts on coral reefs and conservation

The research of the Marine Holobiomics Lab focuses on how changes in the environment, both natural and anthropogenic, influence the equilibrium in the coral holobiont. To disentangle how the host and symbiont compartments interact and to understand how they are affected by environmental change, we use ecophysiological and genomic tools as well as experimental approaches in the Ocean2100 aquarium facility.
