- The license agreements administered by the HRZ are fundamentally very different. Only a few agreements are valid for the entire university. Some agreements are only held by a few faculties or even individual subject areas.
- Software Licenses for Students
- At Justus Liebig University Giessen, there are various framework agreements for the use of software. For specific software products in particular, sometimes only parts of the university are entitled to use them. The framework agreements make it possible to obtain these products at low cost (compared to the general prices of specialist retailers) or even free of charge.

- Software that detects, blocks and, if necessary, removes known computer viruses, computer worms, and Trojan horses
- Subscripion Rights

Some contracts are only held by a few faculties or even individual subject areas. As a result, the entitlement to purchase the individual software products varies greatly. The following table provides an overview of the available standard application software and which areas are entitled to purchase it under which conditions.

- JLU Giessen has been using the anti-plagiarism software from the German provider PlagAware since 2022.
