You can always apply for a PROMOS scholarship at the beginning of a semester. The application deadline for stays starting June 2024 is Thursday, June 6, 2024.
Please note:
- The funding of stays in the Russian Federation and Belarus is currently suspended.
- Due to severe budget-cuts in the programme, study trips in 2024 can only be funded with a maximum of 50% of the amount that is eligible to apply for. It is therefore essential to explore options for (co-)funding already in the planning phase and to use alternative funding instruments, if necessary. Study trips within Erasmus countries can be funded via Erasmus+ Blended Mobility.

Starting in 2025, only excursions outside of Europe/outside the Erasmus+ programme countries can be funded through PROMOS. If you are planning a stay in an Erasmus+ partner/programme country, please contact us about funding opportunities via Erasmus+ Blended Mobility at: europa-aaa@admin.uni-giessen.de.
- The PROMOS programme is advertised twice a year:
The first call for applications refers to stays in the first half of the year. Application period: Start of winter semester until mid-December.
The second call refers to stays in the second half of the year. Application period: Start of summer semester until beginning of June.
Please check which call for applications applies to your planned project and submit your application accordingly.
