Examination dates
Important changes to the registration procedure for examinations from winter semester 2025/2026 (starting 01.10.2025)

Please note the following key changes:
Special Regulations - Section 10 Module Regulations
Previous regulation on examination registration (valid until 30.09.2025):
From 01.10.2025, the following regulation applies to every examination, including ongoing examination procedures
- § 10 - Section (2)
- Students are free to register for a repeat examination; they do not have to do so on the next possible examination date. Examination participation may only take place after prior registration.
- This means:
- Registration for the examination (regardless of whether it is a first attempt or a first/second repeat examination) is required for each examination date - no participation without registration.
- Examinations no longer have to be taken on the next possible date - the date can be freely chosen (allowing for more flexible scheduling).
Please also note adjustments to the period during which examinations are offered:
- Two dates per year and module remain:
- Winter semester modules: February & October
- Summer semester modules: July & April
- First and repeat attempts are possible on each date
- The registration and agreement for an examination date of a 2nd repeat examination, if this differs from the examination format of the
Registration and deregistration
- The Registration for the examination dates in October 2025 will be possible from 01.09.2025.
- As before, the registration/cancellation deadlines will be announced in by the Examination Board on the Institute's homepage
- Deregistration without a certificate is still possible up to 3 days before the examination date.
The already published examination dates for October 2025 will remain in place. The next examination dates for the modules of the summer semester 2025 will take place in April 2026 according to the new regulations.

1st examination period at the end of the lecture period, usually February/July
A - last week of lectures
B - 1st week of lecture-free period
C - 2nd week lecture-free period
D - 3rd week lecture-free period
2nd examination period at the beginning of the semester in which the course is regularly offered, usually April/October
A -two weeks before the start of the lecture period
B - last lecture-free week before the start of the lecture period
C - 1st week of lectures
D - 2nd week of lectures
