Klimatologie, Klimadynamik und Klimawandel
Unsere Arbeitsgruppe studiert die regionalen bis kontinentalen Klimaschwankungen in Europa, dem Mittelmeerraum, in Südamerika und Chinas der letzten 2000 Jahre. Besonderes Augenmerk gilt dabei dem Verständnis natürlicher Schwankungen und des menschlichen Einflusses sowie dem Vergleich von statistischen Klimarekonstruktionen mit Paläo RCMs. Ein weiterer Schwerpunkt liegt auf der statistischen Modellierung und Analyse von Extremereignissen wie Hitzewellen, Starkniederschlägen und Trockenheit in Hessen, Deutschland, Grossbritannien, dem Mittelmeerraum und anderen Räumen Europas.
