Physische Geographie
Unsere physische Umwelt befindet sich aufgrund natürlicher und anthropogener Ursachen in einem stetigen Wandel. Welche dieser Faktoren eine Landschafts- und Umweltveränderung bedingen und welches Ausmaß diese Veränderungen annehmen können, sind zentrale Fragen unserer Gesellschaft. Dabei spielt die Geomorphologie und Paläoumweltforschung zur Beantwortung dieser Fragen eine zentrale Rolle.
Basierend auf dem Motto The past is the key to the future beschäftigt sich unsere Arbeitsgruppe mit der Analyse von Sedimentarchiven, um hieraus Rekonstruktionen der Paläoumwelt und der Mensch-Umwelt Beziehung vornehmen zu können. Dabei kommen innovative Methoden zum Einsatz, wobei wir einen multidisziplinären Methodenansatz verfolgen (Sedimentologie, Biomarker, etc.). Die zeitliche Einordnung der Sedimentarchive mittels optisch stimulierter Lumineszenz (OSL) stellt dabei den Fokus unseres methodischen Ansatzes dar.

Unser strukturiertes und motivationsorientiertes Lehrangebot ist auf die Studiengänge Bachelor und Master mit anschließender Promotionsmöglichkeit ausgerichtet. Nähere Informationen hierzu können unter der Rubrik Lehre nachgelesen werden.
