Abstract: A new class of radial basis functions based on hyperbolic functions will be introduced and their generalised Fourier transforms studied. These radial basis functions will allow the construction, in any dimension, of quasi-interpolants, whose polynomial exactness and convergence orders will be analysed. Furthermore, the smoothness of these quasi-interpolants will be able to be adjusted according to the smoothness of the function to be approximated.
