The research in the group of Dr. Stephen Thomas is focused on the development of new catalytic methodologies for organic synthesis using non-toxic, environmentally benign and inexpensive reagents and catalysts. It is their interest to provide operationally simple methods for the construction of complex molecular frameworks. They also use methods of physical organic chemistry and organometallic mechanism to understand and probe the fundamental reactivity and interactions of their developed methods. Dr. Thomas was a guest of the Wegner group from 13.08 - 28.08.15. During his stay he gave lectures in the context of the Liebig-College program.
