Planning Research Events & Communicating Research Outputs

Planning Research Events

🎯 Different Forms for Different Functions

Closely linked to your (individual and collective) goals is your choice of event format—depending on whether, for example, the focus is on intensive exchange within one or more groups, or on discussions with guests from near and far, whether the aim is a seminar-style encounter with an established researcher, or a variety of alternative forms of exchange over a period of two days. The following formats have become established at our centre, among others, and you are all cordially invited to bring them to life, customise them individually and develop them creatively.

🚂 Information on Billing/Administration of Your Event

Invited scholars are responsible for organising their own travel arrangements: economy class flights; second class rail travel; car travel with a mileage allowance of 0.21€ per kilometre travelled (a flat rate will be paid for exceptionally long car journeys).

Invited scholars are requested to use public transport for the transfer from Frankfurt/M Airport to Giessen railway station.

After their return, the scholars send scans of the original receipts and the completed reimbursement form to GCSC as email attachments. The GCSC will then reimburse them for the costs (no advance payment).

Corporate Design & Visual Identity

At the centre, we are using a Visual Identity with a Corporate Design for print and online material. Please check the following guidelines and use the material provided in the Corporate Design JLU-Box when producing presentations or marketing material for your research events, research groups, committees, or research management tasks. Our templates are based on an overall JLU Corporate Design, which ensures an unmistakable and uniform appearance of JLU.

This includes:

  • Templates for PPT presentations (based on an overall JLU Corporate Design)
⚠️ The logos may not be altered when using these templates, and the JLU logo in particular must be aligned flush with the edge of the background image. We only use the 16:9 format.
  • Templates for (event) posters (based on an overall JLU Corporate Design)
💡 If you want to design event posters yourself, you can either use ppt templates from the JLU-Box or Canva templates.
On Canva, we have templates for Workshops/Masterclasses and Conferences. Please always duplicate the template with text and visual placeholder before creating your version!

  • Corporate Colours
