About me
I'm an art historian with a background in curating. I studied art history, German language and literature and comparative literature in Münster (DE), Bochum (DE) and Paris (F). Prior to starting my PhD, I worked several years as a curator, specializing in time-based art, public art and socially engaged art. Amongst others, I organized exhibitions for ZKM, Karlsruhe (DE), Arnolfini, Bristol (UK) and Liverpool Biennial (UK). I also worked on numerous new commissions and developed site-specific art projects in collaboration with communities.
My PhD dissertation is entitled Sister Projects. Women Artists Practicing Collaboration, 1975-1985 and discusses how women artists collaborated in projects that were produced in the context of the 1970s and 80s women’s movements. My doctoral research is funded by the International Graduate Centre for the Study of Culture (GCSC), and I'm the recipient of a 2021 travel grant from the Terra Foundation for American Art.
