Wartung: ILIAS am Di, 25.08.26 von 9-19 Uhr nicht erreichbar / Maintenance: ILIAS will be unavailable on Tue, Aug. 25, from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Am Dienstag, den 25.08.2026 ist die Lernplattform ILIAS wegen eines Updates auf Version 10 von 9 bis 19 Uhr nicht erreichbar. Die Lernplattform k-MED (Medizin) bleibt währenddessen verfügbar. / On Tuesday, August 25, 2026, the ILIAS learning platform will be unavailable from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. due to an update to version 10. The k-MED (Medicine) learning platform will remain available during this time.

Update: Die Ausfallzeit musste aufgrund von unerwarteten Verzögerungen im Update-Prozess um 2 Stunden verlängert werden (19:00 statt 17:00 Uhr). Wir bitte um Ihr Verständnis. / Due to unexpected delays in the update process, the downtime had to be extended by 2 hours (7:00 p.m. instead of 5:00 p.m.). We appreciate your understanding. 

 

Am Dienstag, 25. August 2026, wird die zentrale ILIAS-Lernplattform auf Version 10 aktualisiert. Während des Wartungsfensters von 09:00 bis 19:00 Uhr ist das zentrale ILIAS nicht erreichbar. Während der Wartung sind auch die in ILIAS eingebundenen Veranstaltungsaufzeichnungen nicht erreichbar. 

Das Wartungsfenster enthält einen Sicherheitspuffer, so dass ILIAS gegebenenfalls auch früher wieder verfügbar sein kann.

Im Zuge des Updates auf ILIAS 10 sind zahlreiche Daten- und Struktur-Migrationen im Umfang von über 65 Stunden nötig, die für die vollständige Funktionsfähigkeit des neuen Systems unabdingbar sind. Um das Wartungsfenster nicht über Gebühr verlängern zu müssen, werden diese Arbeiten im laufenden Betrieb durchgeführt, wodurch es zu vereinzelten, temporären Störungen und Fehlermeldungen kommen kann [1] . Um die Beeinträchtigungen möglichst gering zu halten, werden wir die Arbeiten in den Abend- und Nachtstunden durchführen.

Die Lernplattform k-MED (Medizin) und HDM-ILIAS (vom Hochschuldidaktischen Netzwerk Mittelhessen) sind von dieser Wartung nicht betroffen und bleiben während des gesamten Zeitraums normal erreichbar. Bei diesen beiden Plattformen erfolgt das Update eine Woche später.

[1] Mögliche Auswirkungen:

  • bis zum 26.08. 5:00 Uhr können keine Datei-Abgaben zu Übungseinheiten heruntergeladen werden
  • am 26.08. zwischen 0:45 und 5:00 Uhr kann es durch die Migration des Content Style zur Nicht-Erreichbarkeit einzelner Seiten inkl. der Login-Seite kommen
  • in den Nächten zum 27.08.-02.09. zwischen 19:00 und 7:00 Uhr kann es durch die Migration von Medienobjekten (eingebettete Bilder, Videos etc.) zur Nicht-Erreichbarkeit einzelner Seiten kommen
Des Weiteren ist vorerst die Suchfunktion nicht nutzbar.
 
Sollte bei Ihnen beim Aufruf einer Seite ein Fehler angezeigt werden, notieren Sie sich bitte den Link zu der Seite und den angezeigten Fehlercode. Bitte versuchen Sie dann am Folgetag die Seite erneut aufzurufen. Sollte der Fehler weiterhin bestehen (der Fehlercode wird dabei ein anderer sein), senden Sie uns bitte den Link zu der Seite sowie den zugehörigen Fehlercode an ilias@uni-giessen.de
 
Die Migrationen des zentralen ILIAS sollten am 03.09 abgeschlossen sein.
 

 
 
On Tuesday, 25 August 2026, the central ILIAS system will be updated to version 10. During the maintenance window from 09:00 to 19:00, the central ILIAS system will be unavailable. During the maintenance, lecture recordings integrated into ILIAS will also be unavailable. 

The maintenance window includes a safety buffer, so ILIAS may be available again sooner if necessary.

As part of the update to ILIAS 10, numerous data and structural migrations totaling over 65 hours are required; these are essential for the new system to function fully. To avoid unnecessarily extending the maintenance window, this work will be carried out while the system is in operation, which may result in occasional, temporary disruptions and error messages [1]. To minimize disruption as much as possible, we will carry out the work in the evening and at night.

The k-MED (Medicine) and HDM-ILIAS (from the Central Hesse University Didactics Network) learning platforms are not affected by this maintenance and will remain accessible as usual throughout the entire period. The update for these two platforms will take place one week later.

  • Until 5:00 a.m. on August 26, file submissions for exercises cannot be downloaded
  • On August 26, between 12:45 a.m. and 5:00 a.m., individual pages—including the login page—may be unavailable due to the migration of the Content Style
  • On the nights of August 27 through September 2, between 7:00 p.m. and 7:00 a.m., individual pages may be unavailable due to the migration of media objects (embedded images, videos, etc.)

In addition, the search function is currently unavailable.
