Other Exceed Centers

The exceed program supports the development of competence centers by German universities and their partners in developing countries with financial of 30 million € provided by the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ). As part of the DAAD exceed program, the SDGnexus Network, together with these additional six centers, is funded until 2024.
 
 

One Health Training and Research Global Network (OH-TARGET)

The One Health – Training and Research Global Network is an interdisciplinary network established by the Center for International Health of the Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität Munich (LMU Munich) and partner universities in Africa, Asia and Latin America. It aims is to improve global health conditions by understanding the structural health problems caused by the living environment through education, training, and research.

Global Partnership Network (GPN)

As a network of education institutions and civil society groups for research, teaching, and training, the Global Partnership Network (GPN) focuses on SDG 17, i.e. to strengthen the means of implementation and revitalize the global partnership for sustainable development. It is based at the University of Kassel with partners around the globe and aims to redress the problematic aspects of international partnerships shaped by colonial relations.

Global Center of Spatial Methods for Urban Sustainability (GCSMUS)

Based at the Technische Universität Berlin (TU Berlin), the Global Center of Spatial Methods for Urban Sustainability (GCSMUS) focuses on SDG 11, i.e. to make cities inclusive, safe, resilient and sustainable. It seeks to introduce the use of social science research methodologies for the advancement of urban sustainable development, by connecting social sciences methodology, via knowledge transfer, exchange and implementation and with urban policy-making, planning, and design.

African Center for Career Enhancement and Skills Support (ACCESS)

The African Centre for Career Enhancement & Skills Support (ACCESS) seeks to address increasing unemployment rates among university graduates in Africa by the development of new interdisciplinary concepts to increase the employability of students and graduates of African universities. It consists of a consortium of six African universities and is led by the University of Leipzig.

Social Work and Strengthening NGOs in development Cooperation to treat drug addiction (SOLID)

SOLID-EXCEEED Logo

In order to enhance the prevention and treatment of drug addiction through social work, the project “Soziale Arbeit und Stärkung von NGOs in der Entwicklungszusammenarbeit” aims to support the training of social workers in the Central Asian countries. The project is based at the Frankfurt University of Applied Sciences and promotes a professional exchange between the German and Asian partner universities.

Center for Sustainable Energies, Entrepreneurship and Development in the Global South (SEED Center)

Based at the Technical University of Munich (TUM), the Center for Sustainable Energies, Entrepreneurship and Development in the Global South (SEED Center) aims at contributing to SDG 7, i.e. clean and affordable energies for all through research, higher education and entrepreneurship. It is an interdisciplinary and international initiative in close collaboration with universities in Africa, Asia, and Latin America.
