Postdoc Welcome Day - Postdoc Begrüßungstag

 

We would be delighted to welcome you to our next PCMO Welcome Day on May 12, 2026! All new postdocs at Justus Liebig University and all those of you who have been at JLU already for a longer time are invited very warmly.
 
The Welcome Day takes place twice a year – once in the summer semester and once in the winter semester. You can expect a varied program that will give you the opportunity to get to know other postdocs and the University city of Giessen!
 
The last Welcome Days consisted of two parts:
 
The first part comprises a variety of program items. At the last event, we were guided through the JLU's Main University Building by Dr. Alissa Theiß, JLU's collection coordinator. She introduced us to the works of art on display there. In the summer semester, Petra Bröckman took us from the Mathematikum via various stations of famous scientists to the Main University Building.
 
The second part takes place in the Faculty Club (Restaurant Heyligenstaedt). There, the afternoon continues with an informal exchange and a welcome from the Vice President for Research and Graduate Studies of JLU, Prof. Dr. Wencke Gwozdz.

Wir würden uns sehr freuen Sie bei unserem nächsten PCMO-Begrüßungstag am 12. Mai 2026 willkommen zu heißen! Herzlich eingeladen sind alle neuen Postdocs an der Justus-Liebig-Universität und alle, die schon länger an der JLU sind.

Der Begrüßungstag findet zwei Mal im Jahr statt - jeweils einmal im Sommer- und Wintersemester. Sie erwartet ein abwechslungsreiches Programm, bei dem Sie andere Postdocs und die Universitätsstadt Gießen besser kennenlernen können!

Die letzten Begrüßungstage umfassten zwei Teile:

Der erste Teil besteht aus wechselnden Programmpunkten. Beim letzten Begrüßungstag wurden wir von Dr. Alissa Theiß, Sammlungskoordinatorin der JLU, durch das Universitätshauptgebäude geführt. Sie hat uns die dort ausgestellten Kunstwerke vorgestellt. Im Sommersemester führte uns Petra Bröckman vom Mathematikum über verschiedene Stationen berühmter Wissenschaftler:innen bis zum Universitätshauptgebäude. 

Der zweite Teil findet im Faculty Club (Restaurant Heyligenstaedt) statt. Dort wird der Nachmittag mit einem zwanglosen Austausch und einer Begrüßung der Vizepräsidentin für Forschung und Förderung des wissenschaftlichen Nachwuchses der JLU, Prof. Dr. Wencke Gwozdz, fortgeführt.
