Prof. Dr. Nina Farwig is a conservation ecologist at the Philipps University of Marburg. She is leader of the research group of Conservation Ecology and has been granted with a Robert Bosch Junior Professorship for investigating the “Sustainable Use of Renewable Natural Resources”. The talk will be about her current research foci: the investigation of plant-animal interactions, the relationships between biodiversity and ecosystem functioning in relation to human impact, and which recommendations can be developed in order to conserve biodiversity and sustain ecosystem functioning. For further information, please visit the website of her research group or her personal website.

After the talk, we would very much like to have a discussion first about Prof. Farwig’s research, and second about the process of her career including obstacles and solutions. During the discussion parts you are very welcome to ask questions.

Everybody who is interested is welcome to attend the guest lecture. At the end of the event, all female doctoral students will have the opportunity in a private "Meet the Professor" session to exchange views about research and career issues with Prof. Farwig. If you would like to participate, please write to Lisa-Marie Junker.
