Applied Economic Policy
Module description
The module Applied Economic Policy is an elective module in the major "Economics" and is offered every summer semester. The module includes lectures and integrated exercises. The lectures are jointly taught by the Chair of Public Finance of Prof. Dr. Wolfgang Scherf and the Chair of International Economic Relations of Prof. Dr. Jürgen Meckl.
The course covers the basics of economic policy as well as varying topics on economic policy related to the current public discussion, such as:
- Collective decision-making
- Economic policy in case of market failures
- Energy and environmental policy
- Social and distribution policy
- Economics and policy of education
