The Institute of Political Science offers students a comprehensive higher education on both Bachelor and Master levels, and as a Social Science Minimum offered within Teachers’ Training. In the BA Program Social Sciences (BASS), the Institute works closely with the Institute of Sociology. In the Master Program Democracy and Cooperation, the emphasis is put on the linkages between normative and empirical democratic theory and the analysis of the emerging multilayered transnational systems of governance. The Institute cooperates with 29 universities in 16 European countries within the ERASMUS student exchange program, so that the students have a possibility to pursue parts of their study program abroad. The size of the Institute and its location in an attractive Philosophikum II campus further enhance the positive study experience and the commitment of the institute to academic excellence both in research and teaching.
