Prof. Ansgar Nünning, Founding Director of the GGK/GCSC, received an honorary doctorate degree from the University of Stockholm in 2017. An internationally renowned scholar, he was awarded this degree in respect of his distinguished contributions in the field of literary and cultural studies as well as his leading role in the reformation and internationalization of PhD education. Since 2008, the University of Stockholm has been one of the five European network partners in the PhDnet Literary and Cultural Studies.
