If you are a Gießen student who wishes to spend a period of time at a university abroad, the English Department offers a number of scholarships and operates several exchange programmes designed to support you.

The Application period for a semester abroad during the academic year 2025/26 ended on 29.11.2024. The application period for a semester abroad during the academic year 2026/27 will begin in November 2025.

- Please also look at the ERASMUS database on the pages of JLU's central international office which inludes an official Erasmus report for each of our Erasmus partner universities. In order to find the reports, you need to search for the respective university, scroll down, click on the name of the university to be directed to its individual page and then go to "Erfahrungsbericht".

- Europe - ERASMUS+
- The ERASMUS Programme is a European Student Exchange Programme, funded by the European Union. The ERASMUS network of the English Department of JLU consists of 14 partner universites in nine European countries.
- Worldwide and UK - PROMOS
- Apart from ERASMUS, the English Department has a wide network of partnerships with universities in Australia, Hong Kong, Canada, Ghana, the UK and the US.
