Welcome international students!
At Faculty 08 – Biology & Chemistry – at JLU Giessen, we offer various Bachelor's and Master's programmes, including several international courses. Foreign students can complete an exchange semester at JLU/ Faculty 08 at any time within the regular study programme. You can apply via ERASMUS+, JLU’s exchange agreements, double-degree programmes in Chemistry and Advanced Materials, or join as a free mover.

- M. Sc. Biology, 2 years (taught in German with a proportion of modules taught in English)
- M. Sc. Bioinformatics and Systems Biology, 2 years (taught in German with a proportion of modules taught in English)
- M. Sc. Global Change: Ecosystem Science and Policy, 1,5 years (taught in English together with the University College Dublin) - joint degree

If you would like to study a degree programme taught in German, you should have sufficient knowledge of German to be able to cope well with your studies and everyday life. We recommend at least B2 level, preferably C1.
