Grundkurs Promotion, fachspezifisches Modul FB 03 / Core Course Subject-Related Module Faculty 03

This subject related core course is designed specifically for doctoral candidates who will conduct their dissertation projects in Faculty 03: Cultural and Social Sciences. The course aims to provide the participants with an introductory guidance regarding the process of defining the focus of their dissertation projects as well as building the relevant methodological and theoretical frameworks of their work. Accordingly, the course will focus on several parts of structuring the doctoral project, such as research question(s), literature review, theoretical framework, empirical research, and the general organization and scheduling of the research and writing process. The participants will also have time to reflect on their individual projects during structured exercise and feedback parts of the course.

// Dr. Pinar Gümüş Mantu is currently working as a postdoctoral research associate at the Chair of Cultural Sociology at the Justus Liebig University of Giessen, and she is also an affiliated researcher at the International Graduate Center for the Study of Culture (GCSC). Among her research interests are the fields of sociology of youth, social movements, migration, gender and qualitative social research.
