EU Funding for Early Career Researchers / online event

Dear JLU researchers
Obtaining third-party funding can be challenging and seeking funding from the EU is often regarded as specifically complex. As an introduction, this online event would like to shed some light on the two EU programmes specifically designed for early career researchers: the Marie Skłodowska-Curie Postdoctoral Fellowships (MSCA-PF) and the European Research Council Starting Grants (ERC StG).

Save the Date: Wednesday, May 24, 2023, 2 p.m.–4:30 p.m. (online event in English)

What to expect:
In order for you to get a first idea of what an application to these programmes entails, an European Liason Officer of the German Research Organisations (KoWi) will lead you through both programmes detailing PI requirements, application structure and review criteria. In the following panel discussion, you will be introduced to grantees from both schemes who share their experiences with the application process and project execution. Feel free to join the discussion and ask questions via the chat!

Target group:
This is an open invitation to all researchers. The event may be particularly relevant to postdocs, junior research group leaders, tenure track professors, and doctoral students towards the end of their PhD. Also, international early career researchers are welcome to join.

Who will be involved?
KoWi Liason Officer: Byron Schirbock
Hosts: Dr. Livia Kaiser (Science Support, JLU) and Dr. Martin Blaser (PCMO, JLU)
Grantees: Prof. Dr. Daniel Kaiser (ERC-StG, Justus-Liebig Universität Gießen), Dr. Hannes Schihada (MSCA-PF, Philipps-Universität Marburg), Prof. Dr. Mirco Göpfert (ERC-StG, Goethe-Universität Frankfurt).
