Literary Models and Methods (Section 3)

It is one of the major difficulties of literary criticism and studies to connect the variety and diversity of competing theories with the specific analysis of primary texts. It is the section's goal to guide discussions of crucial literary theories and their productive capacities. In doing so, we meet for joint reading and the discussion of essential texts that are important for every literary scholar.

The selection of literary theories complies with the needs and interests of the section's members and naturally springs from their PhD projects. The central interest of our work lies in the development of connective skills concerning a theoretical approach (often cooperating with experts in the respective field) as well as the subsequent transfer of the discussed theories, models, and methods on literary texts and their utilization for the members' PhD projects.
