Zotero is a free and open-source reference management software. In this hands-on workshop, we will go through the basic installation steps required to get started with Zotero, and explore three major functions of reference management software:
- collecting sources (automatic and manual importing, editing)
- organizing information (creating collections, using tags)
- citing references (creating and exporting bibliographies, with and without the Zotero plugin).
Towards the end of the workshop, we will go over some suggestions for a more advanced use of Zotero in an academic writing workflow.
Please bring your laptop and, if applicable, some references you would like to organize (be it a list on a spreadsheet or a document file, a collection of PDF articles, or a pile of books).
