Qualifizierungskonzept

A total of 60 work units (WU) must be completed. 50% of the required 60 work units (WU) must be completed in the medical didactics qualification programme. There are no compulsory dates. It is strongly recommended that Module 1 be taken as an introduction. The remaining WUs can also be completed through other university teaching courses.
Successful completion (preparation task, attendance, follow-up task) is certified separately for each module completed and, if applicable, for the teaching project. No overall certificate is issued. The certificates will be sent by the Dean's Office of Medicine, Department 11, at Justus Liebig University Giessen. The Medical Didactics department of the University Didactics Service Centre is responsible for issuing the certificates.
Modules 1, 2a and 2b can be credited towards the university and medical teaching certificate ‘Medical Teaching Qualification 1 (MQ1)’ and, upon request, recognised at other medical teaching locations. Further information can be found on the website of the Medical Teaching Network Germany (link).
Course blocks 1 and 2a (‘Teaching and Assessment in Courses’ and ‘Teaching and Assessment with Patients’) cover the topics ‘Enabling Teaching and Learning’ (32 AE) and ‘Assessment’ (16 AE) and contribute 48 AE to the HDM Basic Certificate. Course block 2b (‘Strengthening scientific rigour in medical studies’) can be credited to the subject area ‘Teaching development in the higher education system’ (16 AE). If all three course blocks are integrated into the HDM Basic Certificate, these subject areas are fully covered and the certificate includes the addition of medical didactics content amounting to 64 AE.
The course language is German.
