3-dimensional tracking of a free swimming bacterial cell (Shewanella putrefaciens) in cooperation with the research group of Prof. Dr. Laurence Wilson (University of York, UK). The image is part of a study on bacteria motility published in Nature Communications recently, financed by DFG-Schwerpunktprogramm SPP 1726 ('Microswimmers'), a collaborative study by the Kai Thormann group (iFZ), Bruno Eckhardt (Philipps University Marburg) and Laurence Wilson (University of York, UK).
